The Godfather 2 for PS3 and Xbox360

Most movie franchises have a hard time when it comes to the transition of recreating movies to video games. Even still, the Godfather series has done surprising well for itself. In the Godfather 2 game for PS3 and Xbox360, players take the role of The Don of New York, where your goal is to expand to new cities by killing, extorting, and building your crime rings all while trying to become the most powerful mob family in the United States. Much like the Grand Theft Auto series, Godfather II is set in an open world environment with multiple paths to the end goal.

The Godfather 2 The game makes huge leaps forward to its predecessor in all aspects from control to management, graphics and game play. If you enjoyed the first Godfather game for PS3 and Xbox360, you will enjoy this one. Through the strategy sequences in the game you get a very nice change of pace, although they can be somewhat tedious at several moments throughout the game. These sequences however result in a dichotomy of the fast paced violence and micromanagement of RTS games resulting in mixed feelings.

Overall, the variety of Godfather 2 lacks, however this is not a problem due to the solid shooting and driving mechanics. All of the elements in the game are very solid but they lack the refinement needed to make this game a classic. Like most games, the Godfather 2 game for Xbox360 has its share of bugs. Bugs include little things like with the cars in the game disappearing at random while you are in them. However, the size of the areas are quite small so getting to your destination is no problem. The Godfather 2 game never lives up to its full potential but does capture the feeling of being a real life mob boss better than I have seen any other game.

The story of the game however, does not remain faithful to the source but does acceptably use it as inspiration, with the exception of the slapstick teen humor moments. The online play is very fast paced and exciting with a variety, but most of the time end up being a run and gun with problems in the hit detection departments. despite these problems the game remains fun and exciting to play and worth renting at the least especially if you are a fan of the saints row games. The Godfather II game for PS3 and Xbox360 is highly recommended for anybody who has ever fantasized about life as a mobster or crime boss.
